I couldn’t pass up the chance to make a painting of my own when my kids were painting. There was all that leftover paint, all the supplies were already out, so I made this. What do you think?

It was funny because my oldest liked it, but commented, “You always paint the same thing!” While I respectfully disagree, she might have a point that this has been my modus operandi when painting recently. Something I need to get back to is to watch and learn from other online artists who share some of their own paintings and techniques. Those tutorials are both fun to watch and help me grow as an artist rather than getting stuck in something I feel comfortable with.

What are some ways you like to learn and grow? How are you pushing yourself nowadays?

  1. I actually moved to a country I have never lived in except as a child but visited many times. It has been a very painful experience at times and I have thought of returning to a comfortable place but I feel a week is not very much time to be able to give up yet. Pushing myself. People say I am brave but I feel defeated most days and I suppose not giving up is being brave in a way. Trying new things does require vulnerability, humility and faith. Growth is hard work and sometimes no fun but what it could be is what keeps me going.
