I love this clip from Jerry Seinfeld about Public Speaking.
How about you? What is your biggest fear?
The more you can take steps to address your fears. The more you can work on trying and preparing for those difficult circumstances, the less you will fear them and the easier it will come.
What can you do today to address your fears?
– Jason
I try by giving fear a time-out.:)

I’m working on remembering to declare aloud: “God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and a sound mind” (apologies if I didn’t get all the words right…and I’m not good on knowing chapter and verse either 🙂 ). Blessings to you, Brother 🙂

I received a gift of the NLT Study Bible–WOW, what fun to read and increase my knowledge. We never get too old to learn more–God’s Word is ever freshly illuminated.

So true! I love reading different versions of the Bible… I am reading out of the NLT right now too!

Cool! I have quite a collection of different versions…I really enjoy the Amplified, as well. Okay, confession: I checked, and I left out “love and self discipline” in the verse initially (mis)quoted… maybe because I’m still working on both of them 🙂

I think that we’re all working on those 😉

What a relief to hear that 🙂 Yesterday, I saw something interesting that I’d never noticed before: the passage in Matthew where Jesus spoke about forgiveness (having been asked “how many times”) is directly followed by His teaching on divorce. This kinda rocked me–since it seems I’ll forever be learning to forgive…and because my 3-year marriage/divorce remain a most painful period in my life, even after 40 yrs.

Yeah, I know what you mean… it is so hard and forgiveness isn’t always a one-time thing. Remember: forgiving others is as much for your own heart as it is for someone else.

Yes, I realize forgiveness is really for my own heart–and I’ve forgiven a zillion times, it seems; but it is frustrating that “feeling” (peace from having forgiven) has not caught up with and manifested as the result of determined and sincere forgiving by “my will”. It just seems like an endless struggle…

You got it, Brother–I’m honored to pray, and it’s just plain fun to Encourage 🙂 My one “Jesus” neighbor just came over, asking me to pray with her–lifted my whole day, as her needs and mine were “twins” 🙂

Other than being in the casket,
or doing the eulogy, I’d rather be
watching Seinfeld reruns at home
on the telly 📺 😎

I used to have a fear of public speaking so I did a few bouts of slam poetry contests. Not only did I have to remember my poetry I also had to get over my nerves and actually deliver it – I’m not too scared of public speaking anymore 🤣

Nice! Slam poetry scares me… I am not afraid of public speaking, but the whole format intimidates me 😱

Me too – which is why I did it 😁 I think you just have to be organised and well rehearsed. Then pick your target in the audience and speak to them whenever you feel yourself starting to lose your train of thought. Worked for me anyway.

It seriously helped… I realized that no matter how inadequately I may have done it, I have actually done something that most people, according to Seinfeld, fear more than death. So that’s something at least. Mom would be proud. ;))

Oh my. Public speaking is definitely one of my top fears, lets just say that in college I did not get the best grade in speech class. Now as an adult I have had to put my fears aside and speak up in front of lots of people because of my job, I still get like a red tomato but I get it done. haha.

Nice! That’s good to hear… I think most people have a touch of anxiety, but once they get going that fades away
